Holy Grounds hosted an In-store Magazine Launch with Drama Queen Magazine an outreach of Founder, Shelly Wilson's Ministries.
March 6, 2010

Drama Queen Magazine was breathed by the Lord to encourage girls of all ages to take their place in the Kingdom. With the promise of Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you a prophet to the nations,"you will be inspired by testimonies of redemption, music and sites that feed the soul, and the Word scattered throughout to become alive and active to the reader. This magazine is inspired for women to speak truth into the younger generation, that they might be grounded in the WORD of GOD, prayer, and that they will desire to be holy as He is holy.

Their book was just released and we are privileged to be one
of their first appearances with this book.

September 4, 2010

Artist Cindy Burden transfers her faith and personal testimony into each of her sculptures. Through her elegant simplicity, she evokes deep and complex emotions in this sisterhood she has created. Each one has a story and a scripture that were her inspiration. Every woman, young and old, can relate to this exceptional collection and its messages. It is about Love, Faith, Belief, and Courage. And Cindy Burden includes a healthy portion of each in Women of the Way. A collector booklet is included with each sculpture.

Now happily married, Susan is known for her business savvy, her fabulous vintage ensembles, her faith, her big heart - and the impromptu disco dance numbers salon staff and clients join in when the spirit moves. If life is a dance, Susan's mastered all the moves.

But an exciting business opportunity, her husband's impending retirement, and her fiftieth birthday, rock her world, shaking Susan's foundation and revealing regrets and painful memories she thought she'd dealt with. Will Susan be able to face her past, reinvent her marriage, launch a new dream... and keep on dancing?

Allison Bottkewas here to sign two of her many her books
September 4, 2010

Setting Boundaries brings us face-to-face with a crippling plague sweeping our nation, and through six steps to freedom, invites readers to begin living a life of hope and renewal. In an era when personal accountability has become more and more scarce, it's often the parents who have spent years enabling their children who are now suffering. Feelings of guilt, shame, fear, anger, frustration, and the inability to trust our adult children invade our existence. How do these feelings play into the dynamic of not only accepting, but in some cases encouraging negative behavior in adult children? How can parents and grandparents define boundaries with adult children? In this important book, parents will learn not only to recognize the negative behavior of their adult children, but more important, their own negative responses to it as well. Responses that will need to be altered before change can occur.

Lila and Paul Pond were here for a book signing, for there book: A Mother's Heart A Father's Hand
July 10, 2009

Paul and Lila Pond are ordinary folks who have been blessed with an extraordinary life full of God’s grace, mercy, love, and abundant blessings. Together, they have written a book to encourage others to filter life through God’s Word, and not to try to filter God’s Word through life.

They hope that their journey speaks encouragement loudly as you face constant changes in your own life. Having children, being married, building a career, saving for retirement, facing difficulties and sorrows (and the list goes on), may sound common; but until you are there, you have no idea how much we all need each other to make it through.

With so many destructive and negative messages in the world today, Authentic Woman Ministries prays that this book brings encouragement that will lead to living life positively.

Karol Ladd graced us in March 2009 for a book signing of her new book...Thrive, Don't Simply Survive: Passionately Live the Life You Didn't Plan.

Whether you're struggling with the big issues of life or simply overwhelmed by the demands of every single day, Karol Ladd's powerful biblical principles will give you the help you need. In this book, you will discover how to redefine your unexpected life, and you'll learn concrete skills that will help you move past simply surviving and into a thriving life that is lived passionately and with joy.

New purpose and hope await you just beyond the cover of this book.

Thelma Wells has written over 20 books and is a Women of Faith speaker. She took time out of her busy schedule to be here at Holy Grounds during our Summer Nights In July events, to sign her latest book. Don't Give In...God Wants YOU to Win!
September 4, 2010

Written to inspire readers to fight the good fight of faith and win the raging wars that they battle each day as the enemy tries to steal their joy, kill their hopes and dreams, and destroy their lives.

In her personable and enthusiastic style, Thelma helps readers understand:

  •     What spiritual warfare is
  •
  •     Why they fight
  •
  •     Who they are fighting
  •
  •     How to dress for the war
  •
  •     How to win the war
  •
  •     Who ultimately is in control of the fight

Ready to Win will cause readers to understand that the battles they fight are really not theirs. Those battles belong to the God of “Peace, be still,” who will give them the strategies and courage they need to resist Satan’s tricks.

Wells writes for anyone fighting battles over family, relationships, finances, health, broken dreams, disappointments, and just the dailyness of life that can cause so much distress and hurt. Through instruction from God’s Word and stories of modern–day as well as biblical people, Wells shows how to relinquish those troubles to the only Person who can guarantee winning strategies for life.

Michelle Mead visited Holy Grounds to sign her book The Sky Is Always Blue and to promote her Remember Me Jewelry.
September 4, 2010

They say there are two things that can pierce the human heart - beauty and affliction. My story, The Sky Is Always Blue contains an abundance of both.

Though it reads like a dramatic novel it is a true story of divine rescue. God pursued my tattered heart with revelations of His and from beneath the ashes, “Remember ME”® Jewelry was born. Read the book and be encouraged; whatever present storm you face, The Sky Is Always Blue. The Lord showed me the only difference between what I saw from the ground versus what I viewed from the plane was my perspective. It is a matter of judgment to determine what is greater- the threat, or my God, the fearful circumstances, or my God, my weaknesses, or my God? My God is the only denominator in any of life’s equations that never changes. Ever. He is Constant, Faithful and True.

A voice for single mothers, Janine Turner visited Holy Grounds to promote her book at a book signing in April 2008.
October 9, 2008

Life lessons from single mothers throughout history form the inspiration for single mothers today.

Single moms are not just a product of our modern culture. There have been single mothers throughout history, women who have raised not only their children but also nations with a higher vision for life. Holding Her Head High recounts stories of twelve such women from the third to the twenty-first centuries, women who found ways to twist their fates to represent God's destiny for their lives.

Cindy Burden-- Sculpture Signing!
December 8, 2012

2:00 - 4:00 pm

Cindy was called to be a sculptor, and her art is her way of thanking and glorifying God who has created everyone for a wonderful and high purpose.

Her work ranges from abstract to realistic, from people, to animals, to nature.  The essence of what I am trying to say must be captured in the movement of a piece, which conveys an emotion visible to others and evoking a response.   While I love to do detailed faces with all  their expression, much of my figurative work is more abstract, often faceless, leaving the viewer room to supply their own face on the piece thus making it more personal.  Less is more and I am drawn to the freedom of less details, which I believe allows the essence of the piece to emerge fully.

"Something happens in your heart when you look at a piece of art that touches you - no matter how many times you have seen it.  It's almost a physical sensation.  My art is like breathing to me.  I must do it."  -Cindy Burden-
