The Shack I read The Shack this weekend while lying on the beach on
the Riviera Maya. I started it at home, but I usually read before bed and the
topic was too disturbing to read just before sleep---so I took it along on our
little get away. I actually would not have pursued the book had it not been
recommended by my good friend Lynn Price. I am not much of a fiction girl. This journey from sorrow to forgiveness is available to each of us when we look at the tender encounter of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through the eyes of a tortured man who lost his young daughter to a brutal murder. It is amazing how my attitude has changed since reading this book. I have been given tools to love the “unlovable”, to understand “the mean spirited”, to pray for “the evil”. I have a greater understanding of that which I do not understand. I am different today. Love to hear your comments!!! Liz |
